Kelly Family Orthodontics – Welcome!

We Are Excited to See You Soon!

We have missed you during these last two months and we hope that everyone has remained healthy! In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made some changes to our procedures and protocols to ensure that our patients, their families, and the Kelly Family Orthodontics teams stay safe and well. We wanted to inform you of these changes prior to your upcoming appointment so that you feel comfortable and know what to expect.

What You Need To Know:

  1. All check-ins will be completed on your smartphone from inside your vehicle. When you arrive at the office, you will see a sign on our front door advising you to complete a very short “Wellness Survey” from your car. Completing the survey is what alerts us that you have arrived at the office and completing it will be required prior to entering the office. You will wait in your car and one of our awesome team members will come out to your car and take your temperature with a no-contact infrared thermometer and then bring you into the office. If your temperature is greater than or equal to 100.4°F, we will need to reschedule your appointment. If you have any concern that you are feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment. **Note that if you don’t have a smart phone, you can call us to let us know that you are here. We will then bring a paper copy of the questionnaire out to you.
  2. One of the most noticeable changes is that we will not be using our waiting room until further notice. This regulation will support social distancing and help to keep the number of people in the office to a minimum. If the patient is a minor, one guardian is allowed with them, but if your child is comfortable, we would prefer that they come unaccompanied. If a guardian accompanies the patient, he or she will need to complete the screening questionnaire and have his/her temperature taken upon entry as well.
  3. Upon entering the building, we ask that all persons wear their own masks at all times except when we are working in their mouths. Our team will always be wearing protective equipment as well. We ask that you use our hand sanitizer as you enter. Please brush your teeth thoroughly prior to coming to your appointment as our tooth brushing station is temporarily closed. Likewise, our bathroom is reserved for emergency situations only.
  4. When the patient’s appointment is complete, a team member will escort the patient back out to the parking lot with a treatment progress update and a new appointment already scheduled. Please call or text us if changes need to be made regarding the next appointment.

Kelly Family Orthodontics and the entire dental profession have always held ourselves to the highest standards of infection control. In addition to what we have always done, we have increased our protective measures to include hospital-grade N95 respirator masks, gowns, and face shields, as well as upgraded filtration and UV disinfection in our air system.

Please understand that these new steps are new steps for us as well, and things may move a bit slower at first. As always, safety is our top priority and we will continue to adhere to all local and federal guidelines. As these guidelines evolve, we will update our policies and procedures as well.

We are looking forward to when we can go back to the way things were, but until then we rest easy knowing that we are doing the absolute most we can to keep everyone healthy and smiling. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment. Just remember that we are the same Kelly Family Orthodontics crew and that we are still smiling underneath all of our new gear!
